Just in time for Black History Month, rapper Nas launches a new line of apparel dedicated to celebrating black history and culture. According to his company’s HSTRY website, a portion of the proceeds will go to the National Black Child Development Institute. It’s mission is “to improve and advance the quality of life for Black children and their families through education and advocacy.”
T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats and totes feature black versions of iconic cartoons including Charlie Brown and Bart Simpson. Malcolm X hats and an afrocentric tee and dashiki round out the collection.
Nas’s apparel brand also created a line of ugly Christmas sweaters during the holiday season. Proceeds from that line benefited the Center for Court Innovation, which focuses on justice system reform.
